Frequently Asked Questions
Can I take Securus with other medications?

Though very rare, Securus can interact with prescription medications like SSRIs, SNRIs, and MAOIs. It can also possibly interact with fast-acting medications like Xanax or Klonopin. For these reasons, it is always best to check with your doctor if you are on any of these medications. There is no research to suggest that Securus will interact with any other type of medications.

More info about Kava Kava

Many people express concerns about taking Kava Kava, based on warnings they have heard about or seen on the internet. These warnings are based on a 2002 publication that discussed 11 case reports of liver toxicity (Blumenthal, Mark (2002).) Even though it was only based on the experiences of just 11 people, it caused enough concern that further research was warranted.

A large review of the literature that was conducted in 2011, which reflects the experiences of hundreds of clients concluded that Kava was actually quite safe (Teschke, 2011). In fact, they specifically stated that the liver toxicity issues “appears to be caused by inappropriate quality of the raw kava material” and not the kava itself.

Furthermore, a study conducted by researchers at the University of Queensland published in 2009 demonstrated quite clearly that Kava does NOT cause liver damage (Sarris, 2009).

Our Kava is high-quality and the strength and concentration inside Securus is actually approved by the FDA for use. Our US manufacturer screens it for quality as well. All the research we have found supports its use to assist in decreasing anxiety, as well as its safety profile. We would feel comfortable giving it to our own families.
